The Fisher F19 is not fully waterproof. While the search coil is waterproof and can be submerged, the control box is not waterproof and should not be exposed to water. This means the detector is suitable for shallow water searches, such as in streams or wet environments, as long as you keep the control box dry.

For complete underwater use, a different model specifically designed for that purpose would be necessary.
